2. Eligibility Criteria (General)

  • Academic Performance: Applicants must meet the minimum academic percentage requirements as specified by the respective university and scholarship program (e.g., at least 65% in Senior High School or equivalent for undergraduate). Postgraduate programs will have higher requirements.
  • Age Limit: Generally, undergraduate applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old. Master's applicants typically under 35, and PhD applicants under 40. Specific limits vary.
  • Nationality: Scholarships are primarily for international students. Applicants must not be Chinese citizens.
  • Health Status: Applicants must be in good health and pass the physical examination required by Chinese universities.
  • Criminal Record: Applicants must possess a non-criminal certificate.
  • Language Proficiency: For English-taught programs, proof of English proficiency (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, or a medium of instruction certificate from previous education) may be required. For Chinese-taught programs, a HSK certificate (usually HSK 4 or higher for undergraduate, HSK 5 for postgraduate) is often mandatory.

3. Application Process

  • Document Preparation: Gather all required documents, which typically include:
    • Passport copy (valid for at least 6 months beyond intended stay)
    • Academic transcripts and certificates (Senior High School, Bachelor's, Master's, etc.)
    • Non-criminal certificate (Police Character Certificate)
    • Physical Examination Form (specific format required by Chinese universities)
    • Recent passport-sized photograph
    • Study Plan/Personal Statement (compelling essay outlining your academic goals and reasons for studying in China)
    • Recommendation Letters (from teachers/professors)
    • Introduction Video (often required to assess communication skills and motivation)
    • Bank Statement (demonstrating sufficient financial capability, e.g., 40 lakh PKR or more, even for full scholarships, to cover initial personal expenses and show self-sufficiency)
    • Affidavit by a guarantor for financial support (if applicable)
    • Language proficiency certificates (HSK, IELTS, TOEFL)
    • Any other supporting documents relevant to your application (e.g., awards, research papers).
  • Submission: All required documents must be submitted accurately and completely to Sandhu Study Advisors within the specified deadlines. We will assist with the submission to universities and scholarship councils.
  • Interview: Some scholarships or programs may require an interview (online or in-person) as part of the selection process.
  • Admission & Visa: Upon successful scholarship and admission, we will guide you through the Chinese student visa (X1/X2) application process.

4. Scholarship Benefits (Vary by type)

  • Full Scholarship: Typically covers tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, and a monthly living stipend. Comprehensive health insurance is also usually included.
  • Partial Scholarship: May cover tuition fees only, or tuition fees and a portion of accommodation/stipend.
  • Specific Benefits: The exact benefits vary significantly by scholarship type (e.g., Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), Provincial Scholarship, University Scholarship) and will be clearly communicated for each specific scholarship opportunity.

5. Scholarship Obligations

  • Academic Performance: Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain good academic standing throughout their studies. Failure to do so may result in scholarship revocation.
  • Compliance with Laws: Students must abide by all laws of the People's Republic of China, local government regulations, and university rules.
  • HSK Requirement: Students on English-taught programs may still be required to pass HSK 4 before the end of their first year to continue their studies, depending on university policy.
  • No Political Activities: Students must not engage in any political activities, rallies, activism, or law-breaking events.
  • Annual Review: Scholarships are often subject to annual review based on academic progress and adherence to university regulations.
  • Attendance: Regular attendance in classes and participation in academic activities are mandatory.

6. Disqualification
